About Me

I am a person-centred counsellor which means that I work in a non-directive way with whatever you choose to bring to the session. I provide a safe, empathetic and non-judgemental space for you to explore your feelings, find your own solutions and increase your self-awareness.

I have had various counselling roles within charities, for example, working with people who have experienced grief and loss, domestic abuse as well as with parents going through difficult times with their young people.

I have spent the last five years working in a fast paced NHS Talking Therapies service, helping people with depression and anxiety, where I gained a lot of experience quite quickly! I am now offering online and Walk and Talk private counselling sessions to those who need an impartial, non-judgemental listening ear.

I am a late diagnosed neurodivergent and after my own diagnosis I realised that there is a need for support with processing life through a neurodivergent lens. Managing life with a neurodivergent brain in a world designed for neurotypical brains is hard. I can help you to navigate and process all of this.

I have both personal and professional experience of long term health conditions. When your health impacts you on a daily basis you might experience fatigue, a loss of who you were and what you used to do. You might feel like you're a burden to those who care about you and that your struggles are invisible to others. You may end up feeling unmotivated and unable to pace yourself. A good day can lead to getting lots done which then leads to several days of feeling worse, and becomes a cycle that is difficult to break. I can help you to navigate the emotions of all of this and to come up with your own strategies to help you to improve your quality of life.

It is good to talk but sometimes we need that to be with someone who doesn't know us or have any expectations or opinions about us. That's where I come in! I completely understand how difficult it is to take that first step to seek help, which is why I offer a free 30 minute introductory consultation video or telephone call. Please either email me at hello@lhcounselling.net or use the contact form to get in touch if you would like to book.
